EOALAB

Triggering innovation in the field of opera

European Opera Academy - Competence centre for Shared Education in Opera Training

About

European Opera Academy - Competence centre for Shared Education in Opera Training

This Project finds its overall framework in the European Opera Academy (EOA), a cross-border collaborative initiative launched by Conservatorium Maastricht in 2016 which includes 14 Academies of Music (HEI) in Europe.

Based on the innovative concept of shared education, the vision of this project is to trigger innovation in the opera field in Europe and beyond. EOALAB aims to reinforce the link between education, training and labour market through innovative student-centred teaching and learning approaches, by strengthening cross-border collaboration and exchange of best practices to make opera training laboratories for artistic experimentation and employability both for students and young professionals.

WHAT

EOALAB is the Erasmus+ SP project that aims to trigger innovation in the field of opera based on the innovative concept of shared education.

This SP will act as a think tank of the European Opera Academy to jointly elaborate, test and further develop innovative approaches in opera education and training to be disseminated to and exploited by other EOA members as well as other High Education Institutions and associated institutions.

WHY

EOALAB strives to contribute to creating the new generation of opera makers by reinforcing the link between education, training and labour market. This project intends to offer new answers to the emerging needs of contemporary opera making.
